At The House of Saint Hilarion by Scalabrini Communities, we’re seeking dedicated and compassionate Catering Assistants to join our team on a permanent part-time and casual basis.

In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to support the preparation and delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents. You will play an important part in ensuring mealtimes are enjoyable, dignified, and tailored to individual needs, contributing to a welcoming and homely dining experience.

What you will do

- Prepare and assist with the service of nutritious, high-quality meals for residents

- Support food preparation, basic cooking, plating, presentation, and meal delivery to dining areas

- Provide friendly and responsive customer service, ensuring residents feel welcomed and cared for

- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and compliance procedures at all times

- Assist with stock control, rotation, and storage of food supplies

- Receive and check deliveries in line with established procedures

- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen environment

What you will bring

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills





- Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer service excellence

- Previous experience in food preparation within a commercial kitchen, ideally in aged care or healthcare settings

- Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent qualification (desirable)

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment

- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, weekdays, and weekends

Desirable:

- Certificate III in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification
