This position will be located in our Central Coast office.

About the Role

Servers Australia is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hardware & Data Centre Technician to join our Service Delivery team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and ongoing expansion of our infrastructure platforms across our data centre environments.

You will be part of the team responsible for the deployment, maintenance, upgrade, migration, and decommissioning of enterprise server and networking hardware across our Sydney and Central Coast facilities. The position also supports the management of internal corporate infrastructure and contributes to maintaining the high standards of service our customers expect.

Working closely with internal technical teams, you will assist in resolving complex hardware-related incidents, support infrastructure projects, and contribute to the continual improvement of operational processes and procedures.

This role requires a logical and analytical mindset, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced data centre environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Build, configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise server and networking hardware.
- Install, relocate, upgrade, and decommission equipment within Servers Australia's data centre facilities.
- Perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and fault resolution on production systems.
- Support infrastructure deployment, migration,



and consolidation projects.
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems throughout the provisioning and maintenance lifecycle.
- Provide explicit and timely communication to customers regarding provisioning and upgrade activities.
- Identify, document, and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Manage hardware inventory, stock levels, and asset tracking.
- Coordinate system upgrades and maintenance activities with internal teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and professional working environment within data centre facilities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
- Test, validate, and update firmware on returned or refurbished hardware prior to redeployment.
- Remove and process failed, retired, or end-of-life hardware in accordance with company procedures.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve complex infrastructure and hardware issues.
- Conduct scheduled after-hours maintenance and emergency support activities when required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Certificate IV in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, server platforms, storage systems, and networking equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware faults methodically and efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer focus.




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with multiple information management and ticketing systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Current NSW Driver Licence.
- Ability to install and rack server and networking equipment safely and independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to process adherence.

Desirable

- Experience working within a data centre environment.
- Familiarity with enterprise server vendors such as HPE, Supermicro, Lenovo.
- Experience with structured cabling, fibre optic connectivity, and data centre infrastructure.
- Understanding of firmware lifecycle management and hardware validation processes.
- Exposure to virtualisation platforms, storage technologies, or cloud infrastructure.
- Experience supporting business-critical production environments.

Additional Requirements

- Availability to participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance activities, typically twice per month.
- Availability to respond to urgent hardware-related incidents when required.
- Ability to lift, move, and install data centre equipment safely.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of workplace safety, professionalism, and customer service.
