About the Role
This is a key leadership role responsible for strengthening the Group’s Finance function and delivering timely, accurate and reliable financial reporting across a complex portfolio of operating companies, project entities, subsidiaries and trusts.
The Group Finance Manager will lead day-to-day financial management, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, consolidated reporting, compliance and financial control activities. The role will also review financial outputs across all Group entities, provide technical leadership to the Finance team and partner with senior management to support commercial decisions, project performance and strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, practical leadership capability and relevant experience in property development, construction or real estate. This role offers significant autonomy, broad exposure and the opportunity to improve systems, controls and reporting across a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day financial management and reporting activities across the Group.
- Ensure timely, accurate and reliable financial information is provided to management and directors.
- Strengthen financial controls, processes, governance and accountability across all Group entities.
- Manage Group-level budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and financial performance analysis.
- Review financial work and reporting prepared for all Group-related entities, including operating companies, project entities, subsidiaries and trusts, to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency and compliance with Group requirements.
- Coordinate consolidated financial reporting across operating companies, project entities and trusts.
- Oversee statutory, taxation and regulatory compliance, including requirements relating to the ATO, Revenue NSW and ASIC.
- Provide practical leadership and technical guidance to the Finance team.
- Partner with business leaders to support commercial decision-making, project performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting processes and operational efficiency.
- Support senior management and external advisers with audits, tax planning, financing and other strategic matters.
Industry Background
- Demonstrated experience in the property development,
construction or real estate industry is highly desirable.
- Sound understanding of project accounting, development costs, construction expenditure, project cash flow, cost-to-complete forecasting and profitability reporting.
- Experience working within a complex Group structure comprising multiple operating companies, subsidiaries, project entities and trusts.
- Familiarity with property and construction-related taxation, statutory compliance and financial-reporting requirements.
- Experience reviewing financial work and reporting across all Group-related entities.
- Experience with Jobpac or similar system would be advantageous.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Full CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand membership is required.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, including experience in a finance management or senior financial accounting position.
