Senior Mining Engineer (Senior Associate - Underground Mining)

Role Description

Enable Advisory is looking for a Senior Associate to join our team, working on underground mine planning and study work for a range of Australian and international mining clients. We are particularly interested in engineers with underground hard-rock experience, practical mine planning judgement, and solid Deswik capability. This role suits someone who enjoys technically challenging work across mine design, planning, sequencing, and mining strategy. The role is based in Brisbane, with flexibility for hybrid working. Occasional travel to client sites in Australia and internationally is expected.

The work includes

- Developing underground mine designs, stoping layouts, development designs and practical extraction sequences
- Preparing and reviewing mine plans across medium-term, long-term and study timeframes
- Assessing stoping options, including transverse and longitudinal methods, with consideration of geometry, dilution, recovery, access,



geotechnical constraints and production practicality
- Testing mining method, sequencing, production rate, development intensity, waste, fill and infrastructure trade-offs
- Integrating practical operating constraints into mine plans, including ventilation, pastefill, access, services, materials handling, fleet productivity and drill and blast assumptions
- Preparing Deswik mine design and scheduling work to support studies, strategic reviews, options analysis and client decision-making
- Contributing to concept, prefeasibility and feasibility studies, including mine planning inputs, assumptions, risks, opportunities, schedules and cost drivers

You have...

- Degree in Mining Engineering
- Practical underground hard rock experience
- Robust mine design and planning capability
- Sound judgement on stoping methods and sequencing
- Excellent mine planning software skills (Deswik is an advantage)
- The ability to confidently explain and defend technical decisionsClear communication with clients
- AusIMM(CP) and RPEQ designation would be beneficial but not essential
- Experience with sublevel caving or other mass mining methods is an advantage.
