The Opportunity

We are seeking a Junior Project Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, providing project engineering support across a range of mining and resources projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to build practical project experience and develop their career within the mining industry. Working closely with experienced project and technical professionals, you will support the delivery of projects from planning through to execution, gaining exposure to project management, engineering coordination, contractors, clients, and site-based activities.
We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised, technically minded, and eager to develop their skills in a dynamic and hands-on environment.

What the Role Entails

- Provide project engineering support across mining and resources projects.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution.
- Support project managers and senior engineers with day-to-day project activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with monitoring project progress, costs, schedules, and deliverables.
- Review technical documentation, and project requirements.
- Support the preparation of project reports, progress updates, and technical documentation.
- Assist with identifying and managing project risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to project planning and decision-making.
- Support procurement, contractor coordination,



and project administration as required.
- Assist with site-based activities, inspections, and project implementation when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve project processes, efficiency, and delivery outcomes.
- Undertake additional duties and projects to support the team as required.

What You Will Need

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, ideally Mechanical, Mining, Civil, Electrical, or a related discipline.
- 1–5 years' experience in an engineering or project-related role, within the mining, resources, or heavy industry sectors.
- Some exposure to project engineering, project management, or engineering coordination is advantageous.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Solid attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality technical and project documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn relevant project and engineering systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous exposure to mining operations or project environments is highly regarded.
- Based in or willing to work from Brisbane, Queensland.
