Public Sector People is partnering with a Queensland State Government department to source an experienced Accounts Payable Officer (AO3) for an immediate contract engagement.

Hourly Rate: $51.12 per hour + Superannuation
Contract Details:6-month contract with potential extension (ASAP start)
Location: Brisbane CBD - Fully Office Based

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented finance skilled to contribute to a high-volume accounts payable function within a structured government workplace.

Key Responsibilities

- High-volume invoice data entry utilising SAP, maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and departmental standards.
- Reviewing and verifying invoices against departmental procurement and payment policies.
- Processing accounts payable transactions in a timely, efficient manner within SAP.
- Identifying and resolving data discrepancies to minimize processing errors.
- Managing a diverse range of document types within a fast-paced, volume-driven environment.
- Supporting broader accounts payable team activities and deliverables as required.





What You Must Bring

- Demonstrated hands-on experience using SAP within an accounts payable or finance environment.
- Proven experience in high-speed, high-accuracy data entry.
- Previous Government Experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- The ability to work autonomously and take initiative while contributing positively to team goals.
- A proactive, self-directed work style underpinned by a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Highly Desirable Criteria

- The ability to understand and interpret the content of documents being processed - actively catching errors before they occur rather than just entering data.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the adaptability to pivot across varying document and transaction types.
- Comfort with repetitive, structured work while remaining flexible to assist the wider team.
