ATB Riva Calzoni (ATB) is a long‑established industrial construction company headquartered in Italy and operating in more than 100 countries. We specialise in the design, manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of penstocks and hydromechanical equipment for major hydropower projects.

As the primary supplier of penstocks and steel linings for Snowy 2.0, we combine global expertise with local capability, maintaining direct control over fabrication while maximising on‑site manufacturing and preassembly operations.

The Opportunity

Join ATB in a critical, high-impact leadership role. As the IR / HR Manager, you will lead and deliver both strategic and operational Industrial Relations and Human Resources solutions across a complex, multi-site construction workplace.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure full compliance with employment legislation, enterprise agreements and industry-specific ER / IR frameworks while fostering workforce capability and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute IR / HR strategies aligned with project and business goals.
- Foster constructive union relationships and resolve workplace disputes.
- Oversee international and domestic recruitment, mobilisation, visas and expat relocation frameworks.
- Manage and maintain HR governance, workforce planning and Payroll




- Champion a positive, compliant workplace culture.
- Manage international and domestic staffing and mobility, ensuring compliant, cost-effective workforce deployment.
- Provide expert counsel and advice to executives, project leaders and site teams.

About You

You are an energetic, results‑driven senior Industrial Relations & Human Resources Manager within the civil construction and infrastructure sectors.

You will bring:

- Minimum 7–10 years in senior IR / HR leadership roles preferably within civil construction and infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in union management and rights of entry.
- Preparation and representation of matters before the Fair Work Commission.
- Previous experience leading enterprise bargaining will be highly regarded.
- Strong influencing skills, calm under pressure, highly collaborative and solutions-focused in dynamic environments.
- Tertiary degree in Industrial Relations, HR, Business or Law preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Professional AHRI accreditation is a plus.
- Valid Australian Driver’s License and a current White Card.

Working Conditions & Environment

This role divides time between our office in Cooma and construction sites.

The regional climate features alpine conditions with distinct seasonal shifts and winter snowfalls.

As our sites sit within a National Park, strict adherence to environmental sustainability rules is mandatory.
