Flowrite is a rapidly growing civil construction, earthmoving, demolition and recycling company in Southeast Queensland. We have reached the point where we need a dedicated, trade-qualified Diesel Fitter who can take genuine ownership of our plant and equipment.
This is not a 'keep the contractors going' role. We are bringing the work in-house. You will be the person who knows the fleet, brings the older machines back up to standard, and sets the maintenance culture as we scale. Some plant is new. Some needs serious love and attention after years of contractor-only repairs. We are honest about that. What we offer in return is real responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to grow a team around you as the business continues its strong expansion.
You will report to the Asset Manager and work as part of a small, focused maintenance team (for now). As the fleet and company grow, so will the maintenance function — and the right person will be right in the middle of that growth.
What you’ll be doing
Taking ownership of scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and diagnostics across our excavator fleet (1-tonne minis through mid-size civil machines to 50-tonne demolition excavators, including high-reach) and our road fleet (water trucks, low loaders and support vehicles)
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and auto-electrical faults — by ear as much as by laptop
Performing repairs, component change-outs and rebuilds in a proper workshop with the right gear, plus occasional local field support across SEQ
Bringing older plant up to a reliable standard and establishing clear maintenance records and standards
Working unsupervised with a high level of trust and accountability
Helping shape the future maintenance team as we grow
What we’re looking for
Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (Australian recognised)
Substantial post-trade experience on excavators and/or heavy vehicles (10+ years well regarded)
Strong diagnostic skills across diesel, hydraulics and auto-electrical systems
Comfortable working unsupervised and taking pride in a fleet that is maintained properly, not patched
Current driver’s licence (MR/HR highly regarded)
Forklift ticket, White Card and welding skills all valued
Someone who wants to settle in, build something, and grow with a company rather than just turn up for another job
Why Flowrite
No FIFO – home every night
All our own equipment – no client pressure or external politics
Real ownership of the fleet and a genuine path to leading a growing maintenance team
Permanent full time role with a company that is expanding fast and investing in its people and plant
Supportive culture focused on safety, quality workmanship and getting the job done properly
If you are the kind of fitter who wants a challenge, wants ownership, and wants to be part of something that is still building rather than already finished, we would like to hear from you.
