Bethany Christian Care is a not-for-profit aged care provider established in 1949. We have two facilities: The Plains Retirement Village at Eight Mile Plains and Janoah Gardens Retirement Village at Manly West.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The position exists to provide a high standard of quality proactive and reactive maintenance services which meet the individuals needs, choices and preferences of residents and ensures the upkeep of the Facility's physical assets. We are looking for a full-time Maintenance Officer to be based at our Eight Mile Plains facility, but who is able to go between all sites when required.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Attend to recurring maintenance items (both internal and external) as set out in the maintenance schedules and equipment service logs, and as directed by the Physical Assets Manager / Clinical Manager.
Ensure units, apartments and residents’ rooms are inspected and repairs/ reinstatement is carried out in a timely and cost effective manner.
Carry out repairs to buildings and equipment,
or schedule external contractors to compete these where they are beyond the skills of staff or require licensing, e.g. electrical repairs.
Ability and willingness to be a part of a rotating on-call roster.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Available to work Monday to Friday.
Previous experience in a similar role preferable.
Have the ability to work within our Christian values.
Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate and work with a wide range of contractors and stakeholders.
Enjoy working independently and efficiently with minimal supervision as required as well as being part of a team.
Australian citizen, Permanent Resident or has valid or unlimited Work Rights.
Valid Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
