About us
Independence Australia Group is a social enterprise that provides choice for people with a disability or other personal need, enabling them to regain and retain their independence within an inclusive community.
About the role
Operating within our Growth – National Sales department and reporting directly to the Head of Sales, you will play a critical role in growing and maintaining our Products business across the Sydney North Metro territory (covering approximately 400 accounts across regions such as Northern Beaches, Chatswood, Hills District, Hornsby, Parramatta, Windsor, and Plumpton).
You will build strong partnerships with new and existing customers, selling a service-led solution backed by our range of over 12,000 healthcare products across the Support at Home (Home Care), NDIS, DVA, and residential aged care sectors.
This role offers a balanced workflow of approximately 60% customer-facing engagement and 40% administration, combined with scheduled short travel trips into regional NSW/ACT throughout the year.
What you will do
- Territory & Account Management: Manage and nurture a portfolio of 400 accounts across the Sydney North Metro region, building long-term commercial partnerships with stakeholders ranging from prescriber-level to C-Suite leadership.
- New Business Development: Proactively hunt for new business opportunities across Home Care, NDIS, DVA, and aged care sectors to drive territory revenue growth.
- Solution Selling: Sell total service solutions backed by our product lines (including Continence, Wound & Skin Care, Nutrition, and PPE), positioning Independence Australia as a trusted distribution partner.
- Customer Engagement & Regional Travel: Conduct roughly 12 pre-arranged client meetings per week (Mon–Thu)
and undertake twice-yearly 5-day regional trips (approx. 20 travel days per year across regions such as Armidale/Tamworth and Griffith/Wagga Wagga).
- CRM & Sales Administration: Maintain accurate daily records in our CRM, execute promotional campaigns, deliver webstore/DVA portal training to clients, and contribute to territory reporting.
If you want to make a difference by having a positive impact on peoples’ lives, then a career with Independence Australia Group may be for you.
About you
You are an autonomous, resilient, and engaging sales professional—a true "hunter" with a solution-focused mindset and excellent planning skills.
- Qualifications & Experience: 3+ years of face-to-face sales experience with a proven track record in account management and new business hunting (experience within healthcare, disability, or aged care sectors is highly regarded).
- Industry & Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of funding and regulatory frameworks (NDIS, DVA, Home Care) and familiarity with healthcare categories like continence, wound care, and medical consumables.
- Communication & Relationship Building: Outstanding communication skills with the confidence to engage, negotiate, and build rapport across all levels, from clinical prescribers to C-Suite executives.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems, ERP platforms (e.g., Greentree), and MS 365, backed by strong time-management and reporting skills.
