The oak cafe at Illawarra based on oak flats is seeking an engaging and passionate Chef/ cook to join the oak family.

We are an award winning cafe who focuses on customer satisfaction and quality food and drinks.

The chef will report directly to head chef and oversee the daily operations of the venue to ensure the standard and consistent over the daily operations and help continue its growth.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Menu development
- Ensuring every dish meets the quality standards prescribed by the company.
- Training of all kitchen staff to ensure exceptional food handling practices in adherence to food safety guidelines.
- Leading the kitchen operation in every aspect in order to meet all the targets such as food cost, LC, waste control.

To create and manage systems thatwill always maintain high levels of hygiene practices in the kitchen.

- Monitoring all kitchen staff performance and provide feedback regularly to ensure all kitchen roles are being adheredto at a high standard.
- To follow the correct procedures behindStock receiving, storing and subsequent Stock control.
- Monitoring par levels of produce to minimize waste and operational issues
- To handle produce in the designated organised manner.
- To maintain the condition and cleanliness of all the equipment.




- Liaising with other departments during service in a professional manner to facilitate a high level of customer service.
- To perform daily, weekly and monthly stocktake as required
- The training and management of all kitchen staff on Work Health and Safety practices, injury risk identification and prevention, occupational safety procedures, the correct use of protective equipment, first aid equipment and procedures and fire procedures.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

- Relevant Diploma Qualification

. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role

- Great communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and time management skills.Lead by example Bring a can-do attitude to work every day.
- Respect your colleagues and guests
- Work as a team player and help your colleagues
