About the Role

The Contract Administrator supports project delivery by managing the head contract, project communication, letting and payment processes, variations, claims, Notices of Delay, Extensions of Time and project documentation.

This role ensures compliance with contractual terms, and AKAM Constructions' Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements, while working closely with the Operations Manager and project teams to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review and manage head contracts, subcontractor and supplier contracts, including procurement, tendering, quotation analysis, subcontractor selection and contract awards.

Manage procurement of materials and subcontractor services, ensuring all required compliance and safety documentation is received, reviewed and maintained.

Prepare, review and manage progress claims, variations, invoices and cost tracking, supporting accurate project financial reporting.

Monitor project programmes and contractual obligations,



including the preparation and issuing of Notices of Delay and Extensions of Time where required.

Prepare PCG and cost reports, providing clear updates on contract status, financial performance, risks and opportunities.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, drawings, RFIs, correspondence and registers, and support internal audits when required.

Liaise and coordinate with clients, subcontractors, designers, consultants, suppliers and internal project teams to resolve contract and delivery issues.

Support monthly financial review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including post-project lessons learned.

Skills & Experience

2-4 years' experience in Contract Administration across townhouse, residential and/or commercial construction projects, with experience working on projects valued between $5 million and $35 million.

Strong understanding of procurement, subcontractor letting and Australian construction contracts, including Lump Sum, ECI and D&C; contracts.

Experience managing claims, variations, cost tracking and financial reporting.

Proficiency in Procore, SignOnSite, Smartsheets, Workbench or similar construction software, as well as Microsoft Office.

Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.

Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field is highly desirable.
