About this Opportunity
As a Casual CSO/Lifeguard, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for every visitor. From supervising aquatic areas and promoting water safety to delivering exceptional customer service through reception and retail, no two shifts are the same.
This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your lifeguarding experience, build valuable skills, and join a friendly team dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the UQ community. With casual shifts available across a range of operating hours, you'll enjoy the flexibility to pick up work that suits your availability and lifestyle.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supervise aquatic areas to provide a safe, enjoyable and welcoming experience for all patrons.
- Provide lifeguard, first aid and emergency response services to support patron safety and wellbeing.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through reception, retail and day-to-day patron interactions.
- Monitor pool operations, including water quality testing and facility safety checks.
- Support the daily operation and presentation of the venue, including equipment set-up, maintenance and cleanliness.
About You
- Demonstrated experience as a Pool Lifeguard or in a similar aquatic role, with a minimum of 12 months' experience.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications and a valid Blue Card.
- Strong communication and customer service skills,
with the ability to create positive experiences for patrons.
- Professional, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong awareness of water safety and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, grow and contribute as part of a supportive team.
- Flexibility and availability to pick up casual shifts as they become available, including weekdays and weekends.
