About the Role:
Night n Day (NnD) is seeking a motivated, commercially minded, and detail-oriented Accountant, undertaking Management & Operational Finance Accounting functions to join our Head Office team in the heart of the Sutherland Shire. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the finance function and contributing to the continued growth and success of the business.
This is a broad, hands-on role offering genuine exposure across management & operational financial accounting, reporting, analysis, and team leadership. You will take ownership of key finance processes, and contribute to budgeting, reporting, reconciliations, forecasting, and performance analysis, while supporting financial governance and controls across the organisation.

The successful applicant will have:
- Current membership of an Accounting body - CPA Australia or CA qualified.
- Degree or tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, with 3-4 years ‘experience in management accounting or commercial finance roles.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial control and monthly financial reporting.
- Experience in using accounting systems like XERO, with advanced Excel capability and confidence working with financial data, KPI reporting, and exception analysis.
- Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Excellent communication (both written & verbal), and demonstrated leadership ability and teamwork.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI is an advantage.
- Team leadership, coaching and mentoring.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, internal controls, assisting with month-end and reconciliation processes, supporting financial reporting and ensuring smooth day-to-day finance operations.
- Prepare accurate and timely management reports, including monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analysis including undertaking investigations and resolving discrepancies.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and day-to-day support to finance team, oversight of AP & AR processing, fostering accountability, collaboration, capability development.
- Prepare and distribute financial reports to internal stakeholders, including providing ad-hoc analysis and reporting to the leadership team.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as well as preparation of BAS and other statutory reporting.
- Assist with payroll processing, related administration and audit processes.
- Support the review, development, and continuous improvement of finance systems, reporting frameworks, and internal controls, including implementation of automation and audit recommendations.
