About the Role We are seeking a full-time Diesel Motor Mechanic with proven hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and associated components. The role will involve working on heavy vehicles, plant equipment, and commercial diesel machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical faults in diesel engines and systems.
- Performing routine maintenance, servicing,
and overhaul of engines and mechanical components.
- Dismantling and rebuilding engine and transmission systems.
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts for proper performance.
- Conducting road tests and safety checks to verify fault rectification.
- Using diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ensuring all work complies with safety, environmental, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintaining accurate service records and reporting on mechanical issues.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure timely and efficient job completion.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant hands-on experience.
- Robust diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals.
- Proficiency with diesel engine systems, including transmissions, hydraulics, and brakes.
- Competent in using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and within a team.
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and quality workmanship.
