APS6 Property & Security Officer - Corporate Services

Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract: Non-ongoing, 12 months, with possibility of extension
Pay: APS6 - $105,260 to $127,521 + 15.4% super
Work type: Full-time
Work arrangement: Hybrid, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis
Clearance: Must hold a current NV1 clearance or above

About the Role

Manage a broad property, facilities and protective security portfolio for a Federal regulatory agency. You will help keep workplaces, assets and security arrangements protected, compliant and fit for purpose.

The work spans facilities, accommodation, physical security, personnel security, contracts, procurement and governance. You will advise internal teams, coordinate providers and resolve practical operational issues.

Current APS employees interested in a section 26 transfer may also be considered.

What You'll Be Doing

- Manage property, facilities and accommodation matters
- Support physical, personnel and information security arrangements
- Apply government protective security requirements
- Advise teams on property and security risks
- Administer security clearances and contractor engagements
- Manage procurement, contracts and service provider performance
- Support audits, assurance activities,



reporting and committees
- Improve property, security and corporate service processes

What You Bring (Essential Criteria)

- You've worked in property, facilities, protective security or corporate services
- You can provide clear and practical advice on property and security risks
- You build productive relationships with internal teams and external providers
- You manage competing priorities with limited supervision
- You've supported procurement, contracts or service provider performance
- You can exercise sound judgement and solve operational problems
- You can satisfy an Australian Federal Police Criminal Record Check
- You're an Australian citizen
- You must hold a current NV1 clearance or above

Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)

- Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework
- Experience administering personnel security clearances
- Experience liaising with AGSVA
- Commonwealth property, facilities or protective security experience
