About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our Catering Team.

Working under the direction of the Chef, you will assist with food preparation, kitchen cleaning, dishwashing and maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced team setting and wants to make a meaningful contribution within the aged care sector.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Chef with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout all kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Clean kitchen benches, floors, storage areas, cool rooms, and equipment.




- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Ensure waste is disposed of safely and appropriately.
- Follow all food safety, infection control, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Support meal service operations as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Catering Team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Key Requirements

- Previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, Food Services Assistant, or in a hospitality environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions.
- Fluency in English.

Desirable

- Food Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience working in aged care, healthcare, hospitality, or a commercial kitchen.
- Understanding of the dietary requirements of older people.
- Knowledge of infection control and workplace health and safety practices.
