The Greek Club & Convention Centre is a well-established hospitality and function venue in South Brisbane. The venue provides food, beverage and hospitality services for a range of functions, dining, banquets and special occasions. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Reception Centre Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our reception centre.
This role is responsible for overseeing hospitality service standards, food and beverage operations, staff management, venue resources, compliance, customer service and operational performance. The Role Reporting to senior management, the Reception Centre Manager will be responsible for the efficient daily operation of the reception centre’s food, beverage and hospitality operations. The successful applicant will manage hospitality teams, oversee food and beverage service standards, prepare staff rosters, control operational resources and costs, maintain compliance requirements and ensure that customers receive a consistently high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the reception centre, including its food, beverage and hospitality operations.
- Oversee food and beverage service standards, ensuring service is delivered efficiently, professionally and in accordance with venue procedures.
- Lead, supervise, train and develop food and beverage attendants, supervisors and casual hospitality staff.
- Prepare staff rosters and allocate labour resources in accordance with operational requirements, service standards and labour-cost targets.
- Monitor staffing levels, performance, attendance and workplace conduct, and provide coaching and performance management where required.
- Ensure the reception centre is appropriately prepared, staffed and resourced to support the venue’s daily hospitality and function-service operations.
- Monitor the quality, timing and presentation of food and beverage service across the venue.
- Liaise with kitchen, bar, maintenance and other internal departments to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the reception centre.
- Address customer enquiries, feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, and implement practical solutions to maintain service standards.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food safety standards, liquor-licensing obligations, responsible service of alcohol requirements and venue policies.
- Monitor stock levels, equipment and operational resources, and arrange replenishment or maintenance where required.
- Assist with preparing and managing departmental budgets, operating costs, labour costs, revenue targets and profitability objectives.
- Maintain operational records and prepare reports relating to staffing, service delivery, stock control, expenditure, customer feedback and venue performance.
- Identify and implement improvements to service standards, operational efficiency,
customer satisfaction and team performance.
- Foster a positive, professional and collaborative workplace culture through effective leadership and communication.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Management or a closely related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience; or at least three years of full-time relevant management experience in hospitality, venue operations or food and beverage operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing hospitality operations within a club, hotel, convention centre, restaurant, function venue or similar establishment.
- Proven ability to manage food and beverage service operations, hospitality staff and day-to-day venue resources.
- Experience preparing staff rosters, managing labour costs, monitoring stock and controlling operational expenditure.
- Strong knowledge of customer-service standards, food and beverage operations, workplace health and safety, food safety and responsible service of alcohol requirements.
- Demonstrated experience supervising, training and developing hospitality teams.
- Strong organisational, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced hospitality environment.
