Based at our Head Office, this is an entry-level opportunity with genuine long-term career potential. This role combines two key areas of our business: Children's Books & School Outreach and Data, Analysis & Replenishment. You'll help strengthen Harry Hartog's children's offer by researching publishing and education trends, supporting initiatives that connect our stores with local schools and families, and using data to optimise inventory, product performance and replenishment across permanent ranges and selected non-book categories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research children's publishing, early literacy and education trends.
- Support stores in developing specialist children's book ranges.
- Help build strategies that establish school partnerships for each store.
- Work with Buying,
Marketing and Store Operations to deliver children's and school programmes.
- Contribute ideas that drive community engagement and sales.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenishment.
- Analyse sales, margins and inventory performance.
- Review supplier availability and resolve stock issues.
- Recommend improvements to ranging, merchandising and stock performance.
- Support buyers and store teams with reporting and product analysis.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Confidence working with data and spreadsheets.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
- An interest in children's books, education or early literacy.
- Retail experience, or a genuine desire to build a career in retail buying.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
