About the Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the preparation, plating, and service of meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen and dining environment. Working closely with the Cook and care team, you will help ensure residents receive nutritious meals and enjoy a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with meal preparation and service
- Clean and sanitize kitchen & dining areas
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
- Support kitchen staff as needed

What We’re Looking For:





- Minimum one year experience as a catering assistant in the aged care industry or in a comparable role and industry
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards, including safe food handling, storage, and infection control practices
- Understanding of catering operations and dietary requirements within an aged care facility, including modified diets and texture-modified meals
- Strong attention to detail and effective organisational skills to support timely and accurate meal service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to contribute to a positive dining experience, including meal presentation, resident engagement, and maintaining cleanliness of the servery and dining areas.
