About FORMA Joinery

FORMA Joinery is a growing joinery and cabinetry company delivering residential and commercial projects across Brisbane and surrounding areas.

The company is focused on quality workmanship, design-led outcomes, professional systems and long-term growth.

FORMA is building more than a joinery workshop. The business is developing into a larger, more structured construction and design-focused company with clear standards across sales, design, production, installation, marketing and management.

As the company grows, the production department must become more organised, more efficient and more scalable.

This role is central to that next stage.

Purpose Of The Role

The purpose of the Production Manager role is to ensure the production department operates efficiently, accurately and professionally.

This includes managing factory workflow, coordinating staff, preparing jobs for production, reviewing documentation, identifying issues early, maintaining quality standards and improving the systems used to move work through the business.

The Production Manager is expected to help create a production environment where:

- Jobs are properly prepared before they enter production.
- Staff understand what needs to be done.
- Materials and hardware are organised.
- Production issues are identified early.
- Quality is checked before work leaves the factory.
- Installers receive work that is ready and properly communicated.
- Delays, errors and inefficiencies are reduced.
- The department becomes easier to manage as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Managing daily factory operations, production workflow and job progress.
- Coordinating production staff, apprentices, factory workers and relevant subcontractors where required.
- Reviewing approved job documentation, drawings, specifications, material selections and hardware requirements before production commences.
- Identifying missing information, unclear details or production risks before jobs enter the factory.
- Coordinating with Designers, Estimators, Admin, Installation teams, builders and management to ensure production requirements are clear.
- Planning and prioritising jobs to meet production timelines and installation schedules.
- Ensuring materials, hardware, board, stone requirements and other job components are ordered, checked and available when required.
- Producing, reviewing or coordinating cutting lists, production documentation and job specifications where required.
- Identifying and resolving production issues, design clashes, material concerns, hardware issues or constructability problems before they affect delivery.
- Monitoring workmanship, quality control and compliance with FORMA Joinery’s production standards.
- Ensuring completed joinery is checked, labelled, protected and ready for delivery or installation.
- Coordinating with installers to ensure job readiness, site requirements and installation information are properly communicated.
- Improving production systems, factory workflow, staff coordination and internal processes.
- Supporting staff training, supervision and accountability within the production department.
- Maintaining accurate production records, job notes, material information and internal documentation.
- Reporting production delays, risks, staffing issues, quality concerns or job problems to management as required.
- Assisting management in building a more structured, efficient and scalable production department.
- Any other reasonable duties consistent with your skills, experience and role as Production Manager.

- Interested in long-term growth rather than only a short-term position.

- A willingness to improve systems and contribute ideas.

Experience in Cabinet Vision, production software, scheduling systems or workflow management systems would be beneficial but is not essential if the right practical experience and mindset are present.

Growth-Based Role

This is a growth-based role.

As the Production Manager demonstrates value through efficiency, problem solving, leadership, reliability, staff coordination, quality control and contribution to the business, the role may continue to grow in responsibility and opportunity.

FORMA is looking for someone who can help build a production department capable of supporting a much larger business in the future.

The right person will not only manage what is happening today.

They will help create the systems, standards and structure required for where the company is going.

The Right Fit

This role will suit someone who takes pride in creating order, solving problems and improving the way work moves through a business.

The right person will understand that production management is not only about getting jobs out the door.

It is about building a department that is organised, accountable, efficient and respected.

FORMA is seeking someone who wants to be part of a growing company and who has the experience, discipline and mindset to help shape the next stage of that growth.
