About the role

Canon Medical Systems has an extensive range of equipment in the ACT and surrounding parts of NSW.

Our preference is to recruit an experienced service engineer who can utilise their existing knowledge and quickly gain competency through online and on the job learning.

You will be joining a diverse team of experienced engineers across Australia and New Zealand servicing customers including Public and Private Hospitals and Diagnostic Imaging Centres.

To meet our customers’ requirements, some overtime, weekend, shift and on-call work will be required. Overseas and interstate travel may be required for training.

This is a leadership role in Canon. The highest standards of conduct, professionalism, demonstration of technical competency and Canon core values is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

- Install and service medical imaging equipment
- Learn how to install and service equipment
- Complete relevant training and obtain required licenses for ACT and NSW
- Plan and lead installations




- Support sales and applications staff
- Lead and supervise other engineers as required
- Train other engineers as requested

Our ideal candidate will possess

- Tertiary qualification in electronics, electrical, biomedical or computing engineering
- Working knowledge of IT operating systems, particularly Windows
- Hands‑on experience of installing IT hardware and software
- Current Driver’s licence is mandatory
- Must have or be able to obtain an ACT and NSW Radiation licence (if not currently held, a plan to obtain within 6 months of commencement – Canon Medical provides time and covers cost)
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid ACT Restricted Electrical Licence, or an Unrestricted Electrical Licence (ACT or NSW) that is eligible to be recognised and practised in both ACT and NSW (if not currently held, a plan to obtain within 6 months of commencement at applicant's own time and cost) or
- Must have a valid ACT Electrical Contractor Licence
- WH&S; certification is desirable
- Competent on at least 2 two modalities (eg. CT, angiography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine)
- Minimum 8 years’ service experience in Medical Imaging or similar equipment
- Prior field service experience in electronic, electrical or biomedical fields highly desirable
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
- Exposure and experience working with Salesforce or equivalent CRM desirable
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to commit to support customers for multiple days away from home, with short notice
