You'll become one of the key delivery leaders behind one of Australia's largest distributed battery rollout programmes, delivering dozens of front-of-the-meter BESS projects rather than a single utility-scale asset.
This is a rare opportunity to build genuine portfolio delivery experience across a high-volume programme of sub-5MW battery projects, giving you exposure to the challenges of standardising delivery, managing multiple concurrent sites and developing repeatable delivery models that very few people in the Australian market have experienced.
Beyond the technical delivery, you'll significantly strengthen your commercial capability. You'll be trusted to manage EPC contractors, challenge variation claims, protect project budgets and ensure contractors deliver against their contractual obligations-developing the commercial acumen that separates valuable Project Managers from exceptional ones.
About the role
Vinova are working with a leading renewable energy developer seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing distributed energy team.
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of front-of-the-meter distributed BESS projects from FID through to commissioning and handover, delivering a large pipeline of sub-5MW assets across multiple concurrent sites.
Working closely with development,
procurement, finance and asset management teams, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and on schedule while managing EPC contractors, BOP contractors and key suppliers throughout the construction lifecycle.
Duties
- Deliver multiple front-of-the-meter BESS projects simultaneously across a distributed portfolio.
- Lead EPC and contractor performance while protecting programme, cost and quality outcomes.
- Challenge contractor variations, commercial claims and scope changes to ensure the business receives maximum value.
- Build strong relationships with DNSPs, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to keep projects moving.
- Drive projects from FID through procurement, construction, commissioning and commercial operation.
Skills & Experience
I’d make these the headline requirements:
- Experience delivering front-of-the-meter renewable energy projects (BESS, solar or similar).
- Strong commercial acumen with proven experience managing EPC contracts, variations and contractor performance.
- Experience delivering multiple concurrent infrastructure or distributed energy projects.
- Understanding of DNSP connection processes and grid-connected renewable projects.
- Engineering or Project Management qualification.
