Graduate Project Coordinator / Project Engineer
Strength in Every Structure. A Career Built to Last.
Hanlon is a proudly Australian, family-owned business delivering structural steel solutions across commercial, industrial, infrastructure and outdoor media projects throughout Australasia.
Every project we deliver helps shape communities. From major infrastructure to landmark structures that become part of the landscape.
We're looking for an ambitious Graduate Project Coordinator who wants more than just a job. We're looking for someone who is driven to build a career in construction and project management, is eager to learn, and wants to grow with a business that invests in its people.
If you're the type of person who asks questions, takes initiative, enjoys solving problems and wants responsibility early in your career, we'd like to hear from you.
About the Role
Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you'll gain hands-on experience coordinating structural steel projects from design through to completion.
This is a genuine development role where you'll learn every aspect of project delivery while helping deliver steel infrastructure projects that help build Queensland's future.
You'll be involved in:
- Coordinating site and workshop activities
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of infrastructure, outdoor media and construction projects
- Supporting subcontractor and supplier coordination
- Monitoring project programmes, budgets and progress
- Raising purchase orders and assisting with project cost control
- Maintaining quality, safety and project documentation
- Assisting with estimating, tendering and procurement activities
- Building solid relationships with clients,
suppliers and project stakeholders
About You
We're less interested in years of experience and more interested in your attitude, capability and ambition.
You'll ideally have:
- A recent degree in Construction Management (preferred), Project Management, Construction or a related discipline
- Up to two years' experience in construction or project coordination (graduates are encouraged to apply)
- A genuine passion for building a career in project management
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The confidence to ask questions and learn quickly
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- The ability to build positive relationships with people at every level
- A willingness to get involved on site and understand how projects are delivered
Why Hanlon?
You'll work alongside experienced Project Managers, gain exposure to major structural steel and infrastructure projects, and develop practical skills that simply can't be learned at university.
This isn't just a graduate role, it's the beginning of a career. Our goal is to develop the right person into a highly competent Project Manager over the next 3-5 years, providing the mentoring, responsibility and opportunities needed to get there.
We offer:
- A structured career pathway into Project Management
- Mentoring from experienced Project Managers and industry leaders
- Exposure to diverse structural steel, infrastructure and construction projects
- Genuine career progression as the business continues to grow
- A supportive, family-owned culture where initiative is recognised and rewarded
- The opportunity to help deliver projects that strengthen communities across Queensland
