We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer to join our team and support our growing workforce on a part-time basis (24 hours a week).

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll, employee onboarding and offboarding administration, and responding to payroll-related enquiries.

This role will also ensure compliance with all payroll-related statutory obligations, including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, PAYG, and Long Service Leave requirements.

In addition, you will provide administrative support to the Accounts Payable function during non-payroll processing periods, making this a varied and hands‑on role within a collaborative finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

- End-to-end processing of weekly payroll
- Employee onboarding, offboarding, and payroll record maintenance
- Interpretation and application of relevant awards and employment conditions
- Processing and reconciliation of Superannuation, PAYG,



Payroll Tax, and Long Service Leave obligations
- Management of employee terminations, resignations, and final payments
- Payroll reconciliations, including General Ledger reconciliation
- Preparation and processing of End of Financial Year payroll requirements
- Responding to payroll enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintaining payroll compliance with current legislation and company policies

Accounts Payable & Administration Support

- Management of finance and supplier-related emails
- Entry of Accounts Payable documentation into financial systems
- Providing general administrative support to the Finance team
- Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives across payroll and finance processes

About You

You are a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll skilled with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, award interpretation, and payroll compliance. You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoy building positive relationships across all levels of an organisation.

You take pride in delivering accurate outcomes, maintaining confidentiality, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer or similar payroll-focused role Experience with payroll systems (Tanda experience highly regarded)




- Strong experience interpreting modern awards and employment conditions
- Experience processing and reconciling Superannuation and PAYG
- Experience reconciling payroll General Ledger accounts
- Experience managing employee terminations, resignations, and final payments
- Experience preparing and processing EOFY payroll requirements
- Exposure to Accounts Payable processes and supplier management
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
- Demonstrated commitment to process improvement and continuous enhancement of systems and procedures

Highly Desirable

- Experience processing payroll for 150+ employees
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Knowledge of overtime calculations, shift penalties, and apprenticeship wage structures
- Experience working within a blue-collar workforce environment
