About the role

As Domestic Family Violence (DFV) Practitioner, your role will play a key role in developing and implementing services and programs aimed at reducing violence within the community. This will include development of programs for perpetrators, increasing capacity for staff working with families impacted by DFV (including support and guidance with their case management), and identification of funding streams to expand ongoing specialist DFV services.

Your day to day duties may include:

- Provision of case management, brief intervention and assessment to individuals, couples and families to improve safety for all family members as a teaching process for staff that are case managing a referral. This may include psycho-educational group work for clients and/ or FWS staff.
- Provide consultation and education for multidisciplinary teams that are supporting families and individuals affected by family violence.




- Liaise with legal team to enhance access to legal services for families experiencing DFV.
- Collaborate with external specialist family violence services, including the High-Risk Team where necessary.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and ongoing support of domestic and family violence procedures that ensure appropriate assessment, pathways of care and responses to DFV.

About you

- Current Criminal History Check.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
- Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Tertiary-level qualification in human services or related field.
- Extensive working experience with DFV issues including theory, dynamics and the impact on individuals, families and communities.
