About White Picket Fence

For over seven years, White Picket Fence has been a beloved, beachside brunch destination on the Sunshine Coast. We serve all‑day brunch to a blend of eager tourists and friendly locals, delivering creative, seasonal dishes in a relaxed, coastal setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook high-quality breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes in line with café standards
- Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus and innovate new recipes using local, sustainable produce
- Oversee all kitchen operations: food preparation, plating, presentation and quality control
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene standards and allergen procedures
- Manage kitchen inventory, place orders and implement waste-minimisation strategies
- Train & mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team culture
- Maintain composure and high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment

Skills & Experience





- Minimum 12months’ experience as a Chef in a café or casual-dining kitchen
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations and safe work practices
- Proven ability to multi-task, problem-solve and deliver under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, hands‑on leadership style
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays, with flexibility during peak seasons
