About the Role

Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service are seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Manager to lead our financial operations and provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and Senior Management Team. This role is responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, grant management, compliance, and supporting the organisation's long-term sustainability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and manage annual organisational and departmental budgets.
- Provide financial advice, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making.
- Oversee monthly and annual financial accounting processes and reporting.
- Monitor financial performance, approvals, and delegations.
- Manage payroll, salary packaging, FBT, taxation, superannuation, and compliance obligations.
- Identify and manage funding and grant opportunities,



including reporting and acquittals.
- Develop and implement finance strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation, Modern Awards, and organisational policies.
- Prepare management, statutory, and stakeholder reports.
- Promote a safe, inclusive workplace and maintain confidentiality at all times.

About You

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior finance role.
- Solid budgeting, grant management, payroll, and financial reporting experience.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Australian accounting, taxation, and employment legislation.
