Indie School provides young people with the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment using the principles of adult education: agency, independence, mutual respect and accountability. Small classes, individual plans, expertly created units of work, and specialised staff, assist our students to use their strengths to develop understanding and skills in their areas of challenge. At Indie School, we believe that education is not only about imparting knowledge, but also about empowering students to become confident, independent thinkers and problem solvers. We are looking for teachers who can bring creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to student-centred learning to our team.
Through prioritising safety,
respect and engagement we create a culture in our school which facilitates belonging and success. Flexible timetables (students attend Monday to Thursday), no uniforms and the provision of meals, allow us to concentrate on the key facets of an optimal learning environment – regulation, relationship and routine.
