Located in the heart of QUT Gardens Point, The Kitchen Café is a vibrant campus café serving fresh, quality food and barista‑made coffee to students, staff and visitors each day. About the Role

As a Café All‑Rounder, you'll work across all areas of the café, ensuring our customers receive outstanding food and service every day. You'll play an important role in maintaining food quality, presentation, and cleanliness while supporting your teammates wherever needed.

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

- Preparing sandwiches, wraps, salads and cabinet food.




- Maintaining attractive food displays and ensuring cabinet presentation is of a high standard.
- Receiving, rotating and monitoring stock.
- Following food safety procedures, HACCP requirements and completing food control records.
- Serving customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Assisting with POS and coffee service when required.
- Clearing tables and maintaining a clean, welcoming café environment.
- General cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Supporting the wider café team during busy service periods.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

- Has a robust understanding of food safety practices and stock rotation.
- Takes pride in food quality, presentation and attention to detail.
- Understands the pace and culture of a busy café environment.
- Is reliable, proactive and enjoys taking ownership of their work.
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Can work independently as well as part of a close‑knit team.
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) a current Food Safety Certificate.
