About the Position:
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a position based in Bell Bay, Tasmania. This role is offering a Monday to Friday roster for a 12 month duration.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead execution of mechanical package scopes including structural, piping and associated works
- Manage contractor performance, engagement and compliance
- Oversee QA processes, construction verification inspections and design compliance
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment and site resources
- Develop and maintain project schedules
- Track costs,
manage forecasting and deliver financial reporting
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
- Support testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Ensure adherence to Rio Tinto safety standards and promote a strong safety culture
- Provide KPI reporting and performance updates
Skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 5–8+ years site based project execution experience in multi disciplinary environments
- Proven experience in testing and commissioning activities
- Strong contract and contractor management capability
- Previous experience in client-side project delivery roles
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent attention to detail and technical interpretation skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
- Strong personal integrity and commitment to safety
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a high performing team
- Contractor delivery experience is highly regarded.
