The Machinist is responsible for manufacturing components to specification using CNC milling and turning machines, while maintaining high-quality standards and complying with WHS requirements. The role contributes to efficient and cost-effective workshop operations, and supports production by accurately following Engineering drawings, maintaining equipment and completing required documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling and turning machines
- Prepare, cut and sort materials as required for production
- Maintain machines, tools, and equipment during and after use to ensure safe and productive operation
- Organise and prioritise work to meet production schedules, target hours and cost budgets
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality, in accordance with company procedures
- Follow company quality and inspection procedures during the manufacturing process
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
- Excellent understanding of machining, manufacturing and workshop practices
- Knowledge of WHS requirements in an industrial environment
- Physically capable of performing workshop duties and manual handling
