The opportunity to work alongside our in-house allied health professionals, who collaborate closely with our teams to support children's development and help educators feel confident and empowered in their practice
About the Role
As an ISS Support Worker at The Grove Academy, you'll work alongside educators to create inclusive learning environments where all children can participate, engage and thrive. You'll collaborate with the team to implement inclusive practices, adapt the environment, and embed strategies that support the needs of all children, including those with additional needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working collaboratively with educators to implement inclusive practices that support the participation and engagement of all children.
- Assisting educators to embed individual strategies into daily routines and experiences for children with additional needs.
- Supporting the learning environment through appropriate adjustments,
visual supports, and proactive behaviour guidance strategies.
- Collaborating with families, educators, and allied health professionals to promote consistent approaches that support children's development and wellbeing.
- Observing children's engagement within the learning environment and sharing relevant observations with educators to inform planning and reflective practice.
- Contributing to a positive, welcoming and inclusive culture where every child feels safe, valued and supported.
- Ensuring the safety, health and wellbeing of all children is prioritised at all times
- Actively supervising children and maintaining awareness of risks in the environment
- Reporting any concerns or incidents in line with service policies and procedures
The position we have available for ISS are as follows, with an expiry of 27 June 2027
1 x Part Time - Wednesday - Friday - 18 hours per week
Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting children with additional needs in a childcare or educational setting
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- A positive, compassionate, and proactive approach
- Knowledge of inclusion practices and relevant frameworks (preferred)
- A passion for creating an inclusive and supportive environment
- Strong understanding of child protection responsibilities and mandatory reporting
- Ability to identify and respond to risks to children's safety
- Completed the Foundations of Child Safety training (or willing to complete prior to commencement).
- Successful applicants will be required to hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
