We are looking for a Social Media Producer to join our Sydney office. The successful applicant will have at approximately one year reporting experience for a news website or newspaper, strong writing skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and populate Daily Mail Australia social feeds to bring in millions of users every day
- Manage and cover live events and breaking news on social media
- Monitor daily social media analytics to gauge success of social media efforts and initiatives
- Assist news editors with coordination of social interaction during live events
- Monitor the competitive social landscape, identify trends in social media and news consumption
- Pitch stories that will drive reach and engagement with audiences
- Support the Head of Social and Audience in executing SEO strategies across the website
- Monitor and report on key SEO metrics including in-depth key word research

To be a successful in this role, you must have:

- Must have the ability to write compelling, engaging social media copy and headlines
- Must have some newspaper, magazine or news website experience




- Must have good technical knowledge of social media outlets and trends, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok
- Must have a solid understanding about SEO
- Proficient in SEO tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console
- Must be able to gather and analyse social media data
- Must have the ability to gather information and create compelling digital content
- Must work productively within a team environment
- Must havean understanding of legal covenants and an understanding of copyright
- Must have strong communication and people skills
- Must be flexible regarding shift patterns (including weekends and nights)
- Bachelor degree orhigher qualification in Journalism/Media
