Nurse Next Door Penrith is a premium home care provider delivering high-quality support to people living with disabilities and older Australians in their own homes.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
This role is best suited to someone who enjoys working with a variety of NDIS participants, has experience supporting people with complex needs, and is confident working independently during Active Overnight shifts.
About the Role
This is a Permanent Full-Time position working on a rotating roster across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and Active Overnight shifts.
Successful applicants will be expected to regularly work 2 to 3 Active Overnight shifts each week as part of their permanent roster.
You will provide high-quality, person-centred support to clients with a wide range of disabilities in their homes and within the community.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Disability Support Worker
- Previous experience working Active Overnight shifts
- Experience supporting a variety of NDIS participants with different disabilities
- Experience providing support to participants with complex care needs
- Confidence working independently while remaining calm in changing situations
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding client care
Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded
- Personal care
- Manual handling and transfers and Hoisting
- Medication assistance
- PEG feeding
- Catheter care and Bowel care
- Epilepsy support
- Diabetes management
- Positive Behaviour Support
- High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA)
- Community access and social participation

Mandatory Requirements

- Australian working rights
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or Community Services
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working With Children Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Reliable, comprehensively insured motor vehicle
Preferred
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the disability sector
- Experience working Active Overnight shifts
- Experience supporting participants with complex care needs
- Flexible availability across a 24/7 rotating roster
