Riverwood Community Centre is seeking caring, reliable and motivated Support Workers who are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support within the community.
As part of our supportive team, you will help older Australians and, as services grow, people living with disability to feel safe,happyand connected to their local community.As Riverwood Community Centre expands its aged care and disability service offerings, Support Workers will have opportunities to provide personal care, nutrition and respite services, therapeutic support for independent living and goal-focused support programs under the guidance of appropriately qualified health professionals.
Many of our clients come from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, so we value workers who can build strong, respectful relationships and deliver support tailored to individual needs.

What you will be doing:
Support Workers work independently at clients' homes or community venues, providing:
Domestic assistance and general household cleaning
Shopping assistance
Transport services
Social support and companionshi
Centre-based and community activities that promote physical, social and emotional wellbeing
Personal care support including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting,
continence care and assistance with eating and drinking
Meal preparation and support with nutrition
Support in accordance with individual care plans, goals and preferences
Regular communication, feedback and reporting to Team Leaders
As RCC expands its services, there may also be opportunities to provide support to NDIS participants in accordance with individual support plans and goals.
What you bring to the role:
Empathy, patience and a genuine desire to support others
Experience providing aged care support, community support or disability support
Experience supporting older people living with frailty, dementia, mobility limitations or chronic health conditions
Demonstrated experience providing personal care, continence support and mobility assistance
Understanding of person-centred, strengths-based and reablement approaches to care
Ability to support clients to achieve individual goals and maintain independence
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
Reliable, compassionate, and respectful of clients' dignity and privacy
Ability to speak a second language is highly regarded
Requirements:
Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and/or Disability) or equivalent
Current First Aid and CPR certification – or willingness to obtain
National Police Check
Working with Children Check
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
