About the Role

As the HR Advisor, you will be a trusted partner to our retail leaders, providing expert guidance on people matters while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.

You will take ownership of a broad range of HR activities for our retail workforce, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle administration and support with workplace health and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include

HR Advisory & Employee Relations

- Provide timely, practical HR advice and support to retail leaders and team members.
- Coach and support managers on probationary periods, performance management, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations.
- Assist with learning and development initiatives to build leadership capability.
- Support the implementation and communication of HR policies, procedures and best practices.
- Analyse HR trends and provide recommendations to improve team engagement and performance.

Talent Acquisition

- Manage end-to-end recruitment across the retail network.
- Prepare and post job advertisements.
- Screen applications, coordinate interviews and conduct reference checks.
- Manage employment contracts, onboarding and compliance documentation.
- Ensure an exceptional candidate and new starter experience.
- Partner with hiring managers to improve recruitment outcomes and selection processes.

HR Operations

- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
- Prepare employment variations, promotion documentation and separation paperwork.
- Liaise with Payroll regarding employee movements and changes.




- Support key HR initiatives including engagement surveys, performance reviews and remuneration cycles.
- Prepare and analyse HR reports and workforce data.

Work Health & Safety

- Support workplace health and safety initiatives across the business.
- Assist with injury management, return-to-work and workers' compensation processes.
- Promote a secure and compliant work setting.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Minimum of 12 months previous experience as an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar.
- Experience supporting retail, frontline or multi-site teams.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and the General Retail Industry Award.
- Exposure to New Zealand employment legislation will be highly regarded.
- Proven experience with independently managing employee relations matters and advising leaders on people related matters
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, commercially minded and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- High levels of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
