About Compassion

Compassion Australia is a purpose-driven (NFP) Christian organisation committed to releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name. Working alongside sponsors, supporters and church partners, we help fund and strengthen local church-led child development programs in over 25 countries, creating lasting impact for children, families and communities.

About the Role

As Studio Lead, you will own the pipeline of work into Creative Services, acting in a similar capacity to an agency Account Director for our in-house creative team. Reporting to the Head of Creative Services, you will be the central point of contract for every request: screening, scoping and prioritising work so our creative specialists can focus on their craft.

You’ll build the systems and Asana workflows that keep a busy studio running smoothly, work with the Head of Creative Services and Creative Leads to size jobs and set realistic timelines, and be the trusted go-between for stakeholders across Compassion Australia. Where a request doesn’t need the full team, you’ll confidently point people to self-serve options like Canva or templates instead.

It’s a role for a natural organiser who loves bringing order to creativivity and innovation, builds trust easily across teams, and wants their skills to help release children from poverty in Jesus' name.

About You

You are a highly organised operator who thrives on bringing clarity to a busy creative environment. You combine strong project management instincts with genuine people skills, confidently prioritising competing demands while building trusted relationships across teams, stakeholders and external partners.

You bring solid experience managing workflow and people within a creative or agency style environment, with a natural ability to ask the right questions upfront, accurately assess the scope of work, and set realistic timelines.

Comfortable with ambiguity and quick to adapt, you enjoy being the calm, steady link between stakeholders and creative specialists, and you’re motivated by knowing your work contributes to something bigger than the day to day.

Key Accountabilities

- Act as the single point of entry for all work requests into Creative Services, assessing, prioritising and allocating jobs fairly across competing demands.
- Screen incoming briefs for the essentials; due dates, content, formats, audience and purpose — so work arrives at the studio explicit and workable.
- Partner with Creative Leads to estimate the effort and time each job requires and set realistic timelines before work is committed to.
- Manage day-to-day workflow in project management tool Asana, keeping track of deadlines, allocations and client expectations.
- Build and maintain the templates, briefing documents and processes that keep the studio running smoothly
- Problem-solve deadline and capacity issues, looping in external contractors where needed.
- Guide stakeholders toward the right solution for their needs — full CS support, templates, Canva, or external providers.
- Run regular check-ins and status updates to keep projects and relationships on track.
- Build trusted, collaborative relationships between the Creative Services team and the stakeholders it serves.

What You’ll Bring

- Demonstrated experience managing projects, workflows and people within a creative, marketing or agency environment.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, coordinate multiple projects, and keep work moving from brief through to delivery.

- Experience using project management platforms such as Asana (or similar) and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- A strong understanding of creative workflows and production processes, with knowledge of how designers, writers, filmmakers and other creative specialists work together to deliver high quality and impactful outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to ask the right questions, build trusted relationships, facilitate discussions, and confidently manage expectations.
- A systems mindset, with experience developing and improving processes, templates and workflows that create efficiency and consistency.
- A collaborative, adaptable and solutions focused approach, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and respond to changing priorities.
- Tertiary qualifications in project management, communications, administration or a related discipline are desirable.
- Experience working within a Christian organisation, corporate environment, or the for purpose sector will be highly regarded.
