People & Payroll Administrator

We're looking for an organised and proactive People & Payroll Administrator to join our small, supportive, and fast-paced People & Payroll team. This is a permanent part time role working 3 days per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in delivering accurate, confidential, and professional HR administration. Reporting to the People & Payroll Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting our people, maintaining compliance, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the HR function.

Key Responsibilities

As our People & Payroll Administrator, you will:

- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
- Coordinate employee onboarding, inductions, and training records.
- Manage employee qualifications, licences, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate safety training and assist in the development of customised training programs.
- Support apprentice administration, including processing claims, preparing training contract documentation, and liaising with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
- Assist with the fortnightly payroll process, including timesheet administration, with the opportunity to develop into payroll processing responsibilities.
- Prepare and maintain HR documentation,



ensuring compliance with legislative and company requirements.
- Provide general administrative support across the People & Payroll function.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in an HR Administration or similar role.
- A sound understanding of employee onboarding and general HR administration processes.
- Exposure to payroll and timesheet processing, with some knowledge of Awards and Enterprise Agreements (or a willingness to build this knowledge).
- Experience using HRIS software (experience with any HR system is welcomed).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook and intermediate Excel.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or trade-based industries will be highly regarded.
