About the Role

Kambu Health isseekinga passionate and experienced Paediatrician to provide high-quality, culturally safe, family-centred care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.

You will deliver specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of paediatric conditions while supporting children’s physical, developmental, and emotional wellbeing. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with GPs, nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, allied health professionals, and external specialists to provide integrated, holistic care.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by improving access to paediatric services, supporting better health outcomes, and contributing to the continued development of culturally safe, community-focused healthcare.

Clinic hours:Monday-Friday: 7:00am - 7:00pm, Saturday: 8:00am - 4:00pm (rostered asrequired)

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based paediatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment,



and ongoing management for infants, children, adolescents, and young people
- Deliver culturally safe, family-centred care that is responsive to each child’s cultural identity, circumstances, and holistic wellbeing
- Provide clinical leadership to support high-quality paediatric services and improved community health outcomes
- Assess and manage a broad range of paediatric conditions, including developmental, behavioural, learning, rehabilitation, and complex health needs
- Collaborate with GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, allied health professionals, specialists, schools, NDIS, and community partners to deliver coordinated care
- Develop individualised care plans, coordinate referrals, prescribe treatments, and support children, families, and carers through education and guidance
- Maintainaccurateclinical records, documentation, and correspondencein accordance withprofessional standards and organisational requirements
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, service planning, and the development of innovative paediatric programs
- Work within Kambu Health’s multidisciplinary team to promote safe, effective, client-centred care and uphold the principles of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs)
- Comply withrelevant legislation, professional standards, policies, and Kambu Health’s Quality Management System whilemaintainingethical and professional practice

What You'll Bring:

- Demonstrated experience providing specialist paediatric assessment, diagnosis, and management across a range of childhood health conditions
- Strong clinical judgement, decision-making skills,



and ability to develop evidence-based care plans
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community stakeholders
- Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health priorities, cultures, and social determinants of health, with a commitment to culturally safe, family-centred care
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic healthcare
- Strong organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities, and work effectively with minimal supervision
- Proficiencyin electronic medical records and commitment toaccurateclinical documentation
- Commitment to ongoing career development and CPD requirements
- Eligibility for Medicare provider numbers at required locations
- Current medical indemnity insurance acceptable to the employer
- FRACP in Paediatrics or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification(Mandatory)
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree with current unconditional AHPRA registration(Mandatory)
- A current CPR certificate(Mandatory)
- A current Queensland Open Driver Licence (or the ability to obtain one)
- A valid Blue Card / Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain (Mandatory)
- A current National Police Check or willingness to obtain (Mandatory)
