We are a destination café nestled amongst the rainforest in the beautiful Byron Hinterland. Known for our fresh, seasonal menu, warm hospitality and strong community following, we’re looking for an exceptional Head Chef to become a key part of our growing business.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef who enjoys leading a team, creating exceptional food and taking ownership of a well-organised kitchen. We’re looking for someone who thrives on responsibility, values consistency and quality, and wants to play a genuine leadership role within an ambitious hospitality business.

The Role

- Leading, mentoring and supervising the kitchen team.
- Kitchen opening and closing procedures.
- Ordering, supplier management and stock control.
- Food costing, portion control and maintaining target margins.
- Menu planning, seasonal menu development and specials.
- Rostering and delegation of kitchen duties.
- Maintaining exceptional food quality and consistency.




- Ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Workplace Health & Safety standards.
- Training and developing junior kitchen staff.
- Working closely with the owners to continually improve kitchen systems, operations and customer experience.

About You

- Has previous experience as a Head Chef or in a senior leadership role within a commercial kitchen.
- Holds a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
- Has solid leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Is experienced in ordering, inventory management and food costing.
- Leads by example and enjoys developing a positive kitchen culture.
- Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality food.
- Is reliable, professional and genuinely passionate about hospitality.
