Why Join Providence?

- Relationship-based practice, not a volume-based clinic
- Modern, independently owned dental practice
- Supportive and positive team culture
- Opportunity to grow into our Senior Dental Nurse role
- Prospect for additional hours as the practice grows

About Us

At Providence Dental Care, we believe everyone deserves to look forward to coming to work each morning.

Great workplace cultures don’t happen by accident. They are built by good people who genuinely care about their patients, support their teammates, and take pride in what they do.

We aren’t building a volume-based practice. We’re building a relationship-based practice where patients feel genuinely cared for, appointments are never rushed, and our team enjoys coming to work.

We provide general dentistry, crowns and bridges, implants, orthodontics and specialist paediatric dentistry using modern technology and evidence-based care.

Our focus is simple.

Treat people well. Build genuine relationships. Deliver exceptional dentistry.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced dental nurse who brings energy, initiative and professionalism to everything they do.

You’ll be comfortable assisting across a broad range of procedures while helping keep the clinical side of the practice running smoothly. This includes chairside assisting, sterilisation, surgery setup, stock management and supporting efficient clinical workflows throughout the day.

This role is ideal for someone who notices what needs doing before they’re asked, enjoys being organised and takes genuine pride in maintaining high clinical standards.

We’re also looking for someone who enjoys making things better. If you see a process that could be improved, we’d love to hear your ideas. We value people who enjoy refining systems, improving organisation and helping our practice continually become more efficient without compromising patient care.

For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity to become our Senior Dental Nurse, helping lead the clinical support team, mentor junior staff and oversee the day‑to‑day running of the clinical side of the practice.

Hours

There is flexibility for the right person.

Thursday is the next planned clinical day as the practice continues to grow,

with the opportunity for this role to expand to four days per week and potentially full‑time if desired.

The role is primarily weekdays, however some Saturday work may be required from time to time as the practice grows.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Chairside assisting across restorative dentistry, crowns and bridges, implants, orthodontics and specialist paediatric dentistry
- Preparing surgeries and maintaining exceptional infection control standards
- Instrument reprocessing and sterilisation
- Managing clinical stock, ordering supplies and ensuring surgeries are consistently well prepared
- Organising equipment and materials so clinicians can work efficiently
- Supporting efficient clinical workflows throughout the day
- Helping train and support junior dental nurses and trainees
- Taking ownership of the day‑to‑day organisation of the clinical support team
- Building genuine relationships with patients and helping them feel relaxed and cared for
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, workflows and organisation throughout the practice
- Working closely with the principal dentist to continually refine and optimise the way we work

Who We’re Looking For

- Has previous experience as a dental nurse
- Is confident assisting across a broad range of procedures, including implants
- Is comfortable working in sterilisation as well as chairside
- Is highly organised and genuinely enjoys keeping things running smoothly
- Has excellent stock management and organisational skills
- Brings positive energy and enthusiasm to work each day
- Builds rapport easily with both adult and paediatric patients
- Is meticulous with excellent attention to detail
- Is self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be directed
- Enjoys mentoring and supporting less experienced team members

- Likes improving systems and finding smarter ways of working
- Is adaptable and happy to help wherever needed
- Communicates confidently and professionally
- Wants to contribute positively to workplace culture
- Hold permanent residency or unrestricted working rights in Australia

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about people, enjoys working as part of a great team and wants to help build a practice that continues to improve every year.

Highly regarded, but not essential:

- Experience assisting with implant surgery
- Experience with crowns, bridges and fixed prosthodontics
- Experience working with children
- Experience in specialist paediatric dentistry
- Familiarity with Core Practice software
- Experience managing clinical inventory and ordering
- Experience implementing or improving clinical systems
- Experience mentoring or training junior dental nurses

Future opportunities may include:

- Clinical team leadership
- Mentoring and training new dental nurses
- Responsibility for stock management and clinical purchasing
- Developing new systems and improving existing workflows
- Helping shape how the clinical side of the practice operates as we continue to grow

We’re looking for someone who wants to help build something long‑term, not simply fill a position.

What We Offer

- Above award remuneration based on experience and the value you bring
- Three days per week initially, with Thursday planned as our next clinical day
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Exposure to a broad range of dentistry including implants and specialist paediatric dentistry
- A workplace where your ideas are genuinely valued and improvements are encouraged

We look forward to meeting you.
