Acacia Energy designs, delivers and operates integrated renewable energy systems for commercial and industrial customers across Australia.

Our solutions combine solar, battery storage, generation, controllable loads and energy-market participation. Our proprietary powerXchange platform monitors, controls and optimises distributed energy assets to reduce costs, manage demand and improve energy resilience.

About the Role

Acacia Energy is seeking an accomplished electrical Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Mulgrave, Victoria. This full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the engineering capability of an established and expanding energy solutions business utilsing our proprietary powerXchange control technology delivering grid-connected projects across Australia.

This is a pivotal role for an experienced engineering professional who combines strong technical capability with commercial judgement, practical project experience and the ability to develop high-performing teams. You will work closely with clients, network service providers, equipment suppliers and internal delivery teams, translating complex technical requirements into commercially viable and innovative energy solutions.

The salary package is negotiable for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

Lead the engineering and technical delivery of commercial battery, solar, generation, microgrid and hybrid-energy projects.

Own the design and integration of SCADA, PLC, EMS, metering, communications and site-control architectures.

Direct the ongoing development, reliability and technical roadmap of Acacia Energy’s powerXchange orchestration platform.

Integrate batteries, generators, solar, controllable loads and third-party systems into secure, coordinated operating environments.





Manage DNSP connection applications, electrical studies, protection systems, regulatory compliance and network-service requirements.

Oversee technical documentation, procurement support, factory and site testing, commissioning, performance verification and software releases.

Establish engineering standards, quality and safety controls, while recruiting, developing and leading a high-performing engineering team.

What we’re looking for

Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer, with strong grounding in power systems, controls or industrial automation.

At least 4–5 years’ engineering experience, including 2–3 years leading or supervising technical teams.

Skilled across SCADA, PLCs, communications, metering, protection systems and equipment integration.

Understanding of protection systems for embedded generation – experience with SEL and COMAP favoured

Robust leadership skills, with the ability to recruit, mentor and develop high-performing engineering personnel.

A current A-Grade Electrical Licence will be highly regarded but not essential.

Commercially astute, with sound judgement, problem-solving capability and experience managing budgets, resources and technical risk.

Excellent stakeholder communication skills, supported by a strong understanding of safety, environmental and regulatory compliance; professional registration is preferred.
