The role focuses on fan selection and sizing, filtration design and selection, and delivery of compliant air handling equipment solutions across mining and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer and improve current dust extraction systems, filters, collected dust management systems and ducting networks
- Review selection criteria and ideally use CFD simulations to analyse airflow, dust capture efficiency, and overall system performance
- Perform dust collection calculations including airflow, pressure drop, and capture velocity
- R&D; lead for continuous improvements of mobile, fixed, skid mounted and 'on-board' dust systems. Able to run with developing and testing a new explosion proof range of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Australian standards and workplace exposure limits.
- Prepare technical reports,
calculations, and engineering documentation
- Collaborate with sales, project delivery teams, customers and OEM stakeholders
Required Skills & Expertise
- CFD modelling (Autodesk CFD, ANSYS Fluent or equivalent would be advantageous)
- Industrial ventilation and dust collection system design
- Filter media selection and performance optimisation
- Robust understanding of centrifugal and axial fan design principles
- Airflow calculations, pressure loss calculations, and system balancing
- Familiarity with AMCA, AS/NZS, NATA, MERV, HEPA and dust hazard standards
Qualifications
