Allied Express is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Investigator to join our Operations team at our Archerfield Depot. This role plays a critical part in maintaining service reliability by investigating missing, misrouted, or damaged freight and ensuring timely resolution for our customers.

Working closely with depot operations, linehaul teams, customer service, and management, you will improve freight visibility, minimise losses, and help strengthen operational processes across the network.

About the Role

Reporting to the AOE Admin Manager, you will be responsible for identifying freight discrepancies, coordinating investigations, and delivering clear outcomes to both internal stakeholders and customers. This role suits someone analytical, organised, and comfortable communicating across multiple teams in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Investigate missing, misrouted, and delayed freight across the network
- Locate and coordinate recovery and delivery of lost freight
- Assess and document freight damage and provide accurate reports
- Maintain explicit investigation records and update systems daily
- Liaise with depot teams, linehaul, and customer service regarding case progress




- Provide regular updates to stakeholders and customers
- Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements
- Support compliance with company procedures and safety standards

What We're Looking For

- Experience in transport, logistics, freight, or warehouse operations (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
- High attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Intermediate computer skills and confidence using internal systems
- A proactive mindset with continuous improvement focus
- Forklift licence would be advantageous but not essential
