At Therapy Partners, we are an established multidisciplinary provider delivering Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology and Behaviour Support services to people with disabilities and their families across Queensland.

As part of the continued growth of our Behaviour Support Team, we are expanding into New South Wales and are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing team.

While you'll be based in NSW, you'll be backed by our well-established Queensland team, including multiple Advanced and Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioners, an experienced multidisciplinary team, and a strong clinical supervision framework to ensure you feel supported from day one.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will draw on your background in Psychology, Behavioural Science or Social Work to support participants and their networks to improve quality of life and achieve meaningful outcomes through evidence-based, person-centred practice.

Job Description

As a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will provide quality and specialist behaviour support through assessments, observation and analysis, and the provision of support services and assistance in the development and evaluation of behaviour support and intervention programs for children, young people and adults with disability. This role will involve the following:

- Conduct Functional Behavioural Assessments using a range of appropriate assessments
- Develop Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
- Liaise and consult with clients, hospital and community staff, carers/family members, relevant agencies and government departments as appropriate




- Provide direct behavioural interventions in group and individual settings
- Use behavioural, psychological and evidence-based theories to develop and implement strategies and interventions
- Build and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Adhere to NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission requirements
- Identify, report, and document the use of restrictive practices
- Prepare customer records including timely and effective file notes, support plans, reports and other correspondence
- Complete incident reports and any other mandatory reports as and when required.

Skills and Experience

Must hold a current NDIS registration to practice as a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner in accordance with the NDIS Capability Framework.

Must hold a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Behavioural Science, or a closely related therapeutic or behavioural field.

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner is required.

You must also hold:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current Driver's License
- QLD WWCC
