The Mental Health DFV specialist role provides trauma-informed, client-centred support to individuals and families affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence with additional mental health needs. These roles involve risk assessment, safety planning, case management, and advocacy with the aim of delivering care and resources to support safety and well-being. This role includes providing individual and group-based supports.

X2 Positions Available - x1 based in Ipswich and x1 based in Toowoomba

Roles are part-time 9 day fortnight (0.9 FTE) fixed term until 31/12/2028

DVAC's operating hours are Mon-Fri; 9am-5pm

Positions are paid at a SCHAD Level 5.1 - 5.3 + Salary Packaging + Employee Benefits

About you

All positions require:

Candidates must possess a degree in any human services field including social work, psychology, human services, counselling, or related disciplines with a minimum of 2 years post graduate relevant experience.

Knowledge of and experience in providing trauma-informed group and individual mental health interventions such as DBT are highly desirable

Understanding of gender-based violence, case management, and crisis response, including risk assessments and safety planning.

Knowledge of theDomestic & Family Violence Protection Act 2012.

Exceptional communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to feminist, trauma-informed, and client-centered practice.

IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and client management systems.

Current driver's license & National Police Check

Applicants must hold a current Blue Card that is valid and up to date at the time of application.

Commitment to the National Standards for Child Safe Organisations.
