Our client operates a busy trade counter in Nerang, supplying industrial tooling, saws, consumables, and related products to commercial and trade customers. With a strong local reputation and an experienced team in place, this role will suit a confident administrator who is comfortable managing customer enquiries, processing orders, and supporting day-to-day front counter operations.

The Trade Counter Sales & Customer Service Officer will provide full-time coverage for a valued team member during a 13-week period of leave. The role will play an important part in maintaining customer service standards, accurate order processing, effective communication, and smooth daily operations across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage face-to-face customer interactions at the trade counter
- Book in customer sharpening jobs and advise customers when work is ready for collection
- Answer incoming telephone calls within agreed company service standards
- Transfer calls accurately and take detailed messages for relevant team members
- Make outbound customer calls as required
- Answer calls using the company’s required greeting and professional telephone format
- Process customer orders accurately using Pronto ERP
- Enter and maintain customer orders and information within the CRM system
- Review customer history to identify previously purchased products
- Respond to customer email enquiries professionally and promptly
- Send, reply to, and flag emails for follow-up where required
- Pass messages to staff accurately by telephone or email




- Complete daily opening and closing procedures
- Ensure doors, lights, air conditioning, bench space, and front counter areas are managed correctly
- Sign visitors and contractors in and out using the appropriate register
- Maintain accurate administrative records across customer, visitor, and order activity
- Provide general administrative support to the internal sales and operations teams
- Maintain a professional, organised, and welcoming front-of-house environment

ABOUT YOU

- Previous experience in administration, customer service, internal sales, or a trade counter environment
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicating with customers both face-to-face and over the telephone
- Experience taking and processing customer orders
- Experience using ERP systems such as Pronto, SAP, or similar highly regarded
- Experience using CRM systems and reviewing customer history desirable
- Strong written communication and professional email skills
- Ability to take accurate messages and communicate information clearly to other staff
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a busy, fast-moving environment
- Skilled presentation with a friendly, reliable, and proactive attitude
- Strong computer skills and confidence learning new systems
- Technical product experience is not required, as other team members will provide product support
- Available to commit to a full-time 13-week contract
