About the Role
Pacific Tug Group is seeking a practical and organised Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to support the ongoing management, improvement and application of our HSE systems across our marine, project and shore-based operations.
Based primarily at Pacific Marine Base Brisbane in Murarrie, this role will suit someone who enjoys working with operational teams, keeping safety processes on track, and helping to build a positive safety culture across the business.
You will support managers, crew and shore-based personnel with HSE meetings, incident reporting, risk assessments, safety communications, audits, registers and corrective action close-out. Some travel to vessels, project sites and other operational locations will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing use and improvement of Pacific Tug Group’s HSE systems
- Maintain HSE registers, records and reporting requirements
- Assist with incident, hazard, near miss and corrective action close-out
- Support risk assessments, safe work documentation and HSE processes
- Coordinate HSE meetings, actions and follow-up requirements
- Prepare safety alerts, toolbox material and other HSE communications
- Assist with internal and external audits, including evidence gathering and action tracking
- Attend site and vessel safety meetings where required
- Support HSE inductions, familiarisation and training records
- Promote HSE awareness and implement safety initiatives to contribute to a positive safety culture
About You
You will be approachable, organised and comfortable working with people in practical, operational environments.
Ideally you will have:
- Previous experience in a WHS, HSE, Safety Officer, Safety Coordinator or HSE Advisor role
- Formal WHS/HSE qualifications, or progress towards relevant qualifications
- Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental and compliance requirements
- Experience with incident reporting, investigations and corrective action follow-up
- Confidence preparing safety communications and supporting toolbox discussions
- Strong administration, documentation and follow-up skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with managers, crew and contractors
- Experience in maritime, transport, logistics, construction, infrastructure or industrial environments would be highly regarded
