About the role

We are seeking a Customer Service Rep and Sales Assistant to join our team at our Murwillumbah NSW location. This is a casual position that offers flexible working arrangements to suit your availability. In this role, you will be the face of Better by Bike, providing exceptional customer service and sales support to our diverse clientele. You will combine your passion for cycling with strong interpersonal skills to help customers find the right products and solutions for their needs. This position is crucial to creating a positive shopping experience and driving sales within our tourism retail environment.

What you'll be doing

Greeting customers warmly and providing friendly, knowledgeable assistance on the shop floor

Offering expert product recommendations based on customer needs, experience levels and interests

Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems

Assisting with stock management, including receiving, organising and displaying merchandise

Maintaining a clean,



safe and well-organised retail environment including bike and equipment cleaning

Answering customer enquiries about products, services and bike-related information

Supporting with basic bike servicing queries and directing customers to appropriate services when needed

Building positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and loyalty

Assisting with promotional activities and visual merchandising initiatives

Contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere and supporting colleagues as needed

What we're looking for

Strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping people

Enthusiasm for cycling and knowledge of bikes, or a willingness to develop this knowledge accepted

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Basic numeracy skills and comfort using point-of-sale systems and technology

Physical ability to lift and move bike stock items regularly off and on trailers

Reliability and a flexible approach to casual working arrangements

A positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for customers

Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential

A valid driver's license is a must for accessing the location
